Remove the battery and battery holder. Remove the air filter. Pull forward "arrow 1" to the stop the locking mechanism of the Bowden cable for gear shifting and the Bowden cable for the preselective gearshift device, then lock it to the left "arrow 2". Lock the gearshift control shaft as follows.
Press the gearshift control shaft downward "arrow 1". While pressing the gearshift control shaft downward, slightly turn the locking pin "A" in the direction of the gearshift control shaft and turn it slightly at an angle in the "direction of arrow 2".
Release the cover from the middle panel casing (protruding part of the floor between the front seats) "arrows" using a disassembling wedge. Unscrew the boot through the gear shift lever head. By pressing, move the gear shift lever, which is in the neutral position, to the left side into the 1st and 2nd gear track.
Insert the locking mandrel into hole "A" and hole "B".
Turn the locking mechanism on the Bowden cable for gear shifting and on the Bowden cable for the preselective gearshift device to the right in the "direction of arrow 1" to the stop. The spring returns the locking mechanism to its original position "arrow 2".
Turn handle "A" to its original position - in the direction of the arrow-.
Remove the locking mandrel from holes "A" and "B". Check the operation of the gear shift mechanism. Insert the cover into the middle panel casing (protruding part of the floor between the front seats). Install the air filter. Install the battery and battery holder.

If any of the gears sticks when re-engaging, then you need to check the clearance (play) of the gear shift control shaft in the following way. Engage 1st gear. Press the gear shift lever all the way to the left and release it again. At the same time, observe the gear shift control shaft on the gearbox (with the involvement of a second mechanic). When moving the gearshift lever, the travel of the gearshift control shaft should be about 1 mm "arrow". Otherwise, adjust the gearshift mechanism again.
