All cars

Remove the instrument panel. Remove the spacer (air duct) for defrost heater grilles (2 mounting pins) and a spacer (air duct) middle air vents (2 clamps). After unscrewing two screws (1.4 Nm), remove the front passenger glove compartment cooling device pipe with the connecting hose. After disconnecting the main wiring harness holder together with the harness from the mount on the heater towards you, release the wiring harness from the clamps on the heater. Vehicles with auxiliary resistive heater - release the wiring harness from the clamps on the heater housing on the left rear. Disconnect the vehicle's left wiring harness connector near the fresh air intake fan. After unscrewing screw "4" (1.5 Nm), remove the left air duct nozzle into the footwell "3". Remove the comfort system electrical equipment control unit "J393". After pressing the holder "1" of the comfort system electrical equipment control unit at the top towards the outside, pull it out of the support in the direction of the "arrow".

The lower part of the heater should be slightly tilted towards you, while pressing down with your hand the shock-absorbing insulation at the air intake opening and at the expansion valve. The right side of the heater should be lowered down and the heater should be carefully removed.

Installation

Installation is carried out in the reverse order of actions, and the following instructions must be followed. When pumping the air conditioner, use your hand to push back the shock-absorbing insulation around the expansion valve. Press sealing lip "1" evenly around into the evaporator housing groove "2" "arrows". Before installing the air conditioning system, lubricate the sealing lips of the bulkhead seal (mounting plate) neutral soap solution (easier installation). To do this, you should raise the protective flap of the thermal insulation in front of the condensate drain valve.

Installation is carried out in the reverse order…

Raise the protective flap "1". Press the working edge "3" of the seal "6" along the entire perimeter into the groove of the pipe "2" of the condensate drain valve "7" of the "arrow".

When installing the heat exchanger, press the working edge "4" of the seal "6" along the entire perimeter into the groove of the heat exchanger "arrow" pipe "5". Unplug the openings of the expansion valve. Replace the O-rings on the heat exchanger pipe and expansion valve. Connect the coolant hoses correctly in relation to the sides. In the direction of vehicle movement, to the left: supply line to the right: return line.

Important: After closing, the protective flap "1" must be an ideal continuation of the thermal insulation, being in the same plane. If the protective flap "1" is pressed too far inward, the cap of the condensate drain valve "7" may become blocked.

Check the coolant level and top up if necessary.

Important: If the heat exchanger has been replaced, the entire filling volume of the coolant must be replaced.

Change the desiccant. Pour in the coolant. Follow the procedure when connecting the wire connecting the battery terminal to the ground (body) of the vehicle.
