Important: Screws on chassis parts with rubber-metal mounts must always be tightened in the unloaded position at the vehicle's curb weight. Before you start work, you should know the size "a".
Remove the front wheel. Remove the lower engine cover. Turn the steering wheel to the extreme right position (removing the lever on the left side) or to the extreme left position (removing the lever on the right side). Remove the "arrow" screws. Remove the wheel hub bearing cap with the ball joint head from the lower front suspension arm.
Unscrew screw "1".
Important: Fold the lower front suspension arm away from the suspension mount as little as possible to prevent possible damage to the rubber-to-metal mount.
Remove the lower arm of the front suspension "2" from the suspension mounting beam.
Remove the lower arm of the front suspension "1" from the bracket.
Important: When pulling the lower arm of the front suspension, be careful not to damage the wheel arch liner or sound insulation.
Installation
Lubricate the lower arm journal of the front suspension with oil.
Caution: During installation, ensure that the front lower control arm assembly is in the correct position relative to the bracket. The surfaces of the lower control arm of the front suspension must fit well with the surfaces of the bracket hole. The suspension arm is supposed to be level with the suspension mount beam. Failure to maintain the correct assembly position would damage the rubber-metal support of the bracket and reduce its service life.
Install the lower arm of the front suspension into the rubber-metal support of the bracket by hand, using a rubber hammer if necessary.
Insert the lower arm of the front suspension "2" into the suspension mounting beam, using a rubber hammer if necessary.
Important: Tightening the lever and axle suspension mounting beam screw is possible if dimension "a" is maintained (vehicle in unladen position - with curb weight).
After inserting the screw, tighten it to the specified torque. Install the ball joint head of the lower arm of the front suspension.
Important: To screw together the front lower control arm and the ball joint head, use new screws and a new lock washer.
Adjust the lower arm of the front suspension "2" and the head of the ball joint "1" in relation to each other so that the holes "arrows" on the lower arm of the front suspension and on the head of the ball joint overlap each other.
To better secure the position, use two 8.3 mm diameter mandrels or two 8.3 mm diameter drills. Screw in the "arrow" screws and tighten them. Install the lower engine cover. After installing the wheel, tighten it. Measure the car.
