When carrying out control, the following instructions should be observed. Before starting the inspection, warm up the engine to operating temperature. After stopping the engine, wait at least 3 minutes to allow the oil to drain back into the oil pan. Pull out the oil level indicator and, after wiping it with a clean cloth, push it back into place until it stops. Pull out the indicator again and read the oil level.

Oil level indicator

Oil level indicator

The oil level is at section "a"

Oil cannot be added.

The oil level is at section "b"

Oil can be added. It may happen that the oil level rises to section "a".

The oil level is at section "c"

Oil needs to be topped up. Then it is enough if the oil level rises to section "b".

Important: Never allow the oil level to be above section "a" to avoid damaging the catalytic converter. The vehicle must be level when measuring the oil level. After stopping the engine, you should wait a few minutes to allow the oil to drain back into the oil pan.

Checking the brake fluid level

Use only new genuine brake fluid meeting FMVSS 571.116 DOT 4.

Important: To prevent fluid from leaking out of the tank, do not exceed the "MAX" mark.

Important: To prevent fluid from leaking out of…

Conduct a level assessment (quantities) brake fluid always depends on the degree of wear of the brake linings. Due to wear of the brake linings and subsequent automatic compensation of gaps, a slight decrease in the level in the expansion tank occurs. If the level is approaching the "MIN" mark and the brake linings are almost completely worn out, there is no need to add brake fluid. If the brake pads are only slightly worn, the brake fluid level should be between the "MIN" and "MAX" marks. If the fluid level drops below the "MIN" mark, inspect the entire brake system before adding fluid and, if necessary, repair it.

Control of the "ON/OFF" function of the Airbag system for the front passenger and switching to the "ON" position

Turn off the ignition. Using the ignition key, turn the front passenger airbag switch to the "OFF" position. After turning the ignition on, the airbag indicator should illuminate "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" in the middle instrument panel. Turn off the ignition. Using the ignition key, turn the front passenger airbag switch to the "ON" position. After the front passenger airbag system is activated and the ignition is turned on, approx. after 3 seconds, the Airbag system indicator will stop lighting "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" in the middle instrument panel.

Important: The front passenger airbag switch may only be operated when the ignition is switched off. The fact is that after changing the position of the switch, due to different temporary contact times of individual contacts inside the switch, the Airbag system control unit may assess the malfunction and the indicator on the instrument panel may light up (danger of airbag system activation).

Setting the clock

Setting the clock

The control button located next to the speedometer is used to set the clock. Turning button "1" to the left adjusts the hours (h), while turning it to the right adjusts the minutes (min). A short turn advances the time by one hour and one minute, respectively. By holding the button in the left or right end positions, the hours and minutes are gradually counted.
