Installing the parking brake lever
1 – lever; 2 – lever casing; 3 – equalizer; 4 – adjusting nut; 5 – sealing sleeve; 6 – guide tube; 7 – parking brake cable; 8 – lever support; 9 – Parking brake indicator lamp switch; 10 – lever mounting nut
1. Disconnect the wire from the "-" terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the floor console.
3. Lower the parking brake lever all the way down.
4. Disconnect the wire from switch 9 (see figure Installing the parking brake lever) parking brake indicator lamp.
5. Loosen adjusting nut 4 and disconnect cable ends 7 from equalizer 3.

6. Unscrew the two nuts 10 securing the lever.
7. Remove lever 1 from support 8.
8. If necessary, remove switch 9 of the parking brake indicator lamp and equalizer 3 from the lever.
9. To remove cover 2, use a screwdriver to press the latch on the bottom of the cover and remove the cover by sliding it along the lever. When installing the cover in place, slide it onto the lever until it stops and is secured with a latch.
10. Install the parking brake lever in reverse order. At the same time, replace the lever mounting nuts with new ones. Adjust the parking brake.
The tightening torque of the lever mounting nuts is 20 Nm, turn further by 90°.
