Assembly diagram
Important: Cylinder heads with cracks between the valve seats can be used without reducing their service life, if the cracks are small, maximum 0.5 mm wide. Additional machining of the cylinder head of diesel engines is not permitted. Replace the cylinder head bolts. When installing, replace the self-locking nuts and screws that are tightened according to the rotation angle, as well as the sealing rings and gaskets. In the case of assembling a replaceable cylinder head with an integrated camshaft, after installing the cylinder head, it is necessary to lubricate the contact areas between the plate tappets and the sliding surface of the cams with oil. The plastic caps that protect the exposed valves of the replacement cylinder head should only be removed immediately before installing the cylinder head. When replacing the cylinder head, the entire coolant fill volume must be changed. If the engine oil is contaminated, it is necessary to change the oil. The engine temperature must not exceed 35°C, otherwise the cylinder head could become twisted when the cylinder head mounting screws are loosened.
For engines with the letter designation BSW

Checking the flatness of the cylinder head

Maximum permissible deviation: 0.1 mm
Important: Additional processing of the cylinder head on diesel engines is not permitted.
Cylinder head gasket markings
- part number ="arrow 1"
- control code ="arrow 2" (disregard)
- holes ="arrow 3"
Important: Depending on the piston interference fit to the cylinder block, cylinder head gaskets of varying thickness are installed for assembly. If only one gasket is replaced, it must be replaced with a gasket with the same marking.
