1 - Upper part of the toothed drive belt protective cover; 2 - Before removing the toothed drive belt, mark the direction of movement, check for wear, do not bend it too much; 3 - 20 Nm + turn 1/8 turn (45°); 4 - Tension roller; 5 - 20 Nm + turn 1/8 turn (45°); 6 - Drive gear (pulley) of the camshaft; 7 - 100 Nm; 8 - Hub, with a pulse wheel, to loosen and tighten use the counter support "T10051", to remove use the puller "T10052"; 9 - 10 Nm; 10 - Rear toothed drive belt guard; 11 - Bushing, replace if damaged; 12 - O-ring seal, replace; 13 - Liquid cooling system pump; 14 - 15 Nm; 15 - Guide roller; 16 - Toothed belt pulley on the crankshaft, the mating surface between the pulley on the crankshaft and the crankshaft must be clean and free from oil, assembly position: the flat areas on the toothed belt pulley and on the crankshaft must match each other; 17 - 120 Nm + 1/4 turn (90°), use a counter support to loosen and tighten (supporting shoulder) "MR1-310 (3099)" or "T30004" with counter-support -T30004 (3415)-, replace, do not lubricate the new screw with oil and do not degrease; 18 - 20 Nm + turn 1/8 turn (45°); 19 - Lower part of the toothed drive belt protective cover; 20 - Poly V-belt pulley, with vibration damper, installation is possible only in one single position - mutually offset holes; 21 - 10 Nm + turn 1/4 turn (90°); 22 - Middle part of the toothed drive belt protective cover; 23 - 45 Nm; 24 - Engine support

Tension roller

Tension roller

Additional hole in the tension roller eccentric "arrow" for the socket wrench "T10264" (or a 6 mm hex socket wrench).

Important: The new design tension roller can be adjusted using a special timing belt tensioner key, such as the "T10020" or a standard 6 mm Allen key.

Setting TDC with the crankshaft pulley installed

Setting TDC with the crankshaft pulley installed

Adjust the TDC mark on the crankshaft pulley opposite the mark on the lower protective cover of the toothed drive belt according to the figure.

Removal

Remove the poly V-belt. Remove the right front wheel arch liner. (wings). Remove the poly V-belt pulley. Remove the middle and lower parts of the toothed belt guard.

Caution: Fuel line is under pressure. Before disconnecting the hose connections, you need to cover the connection area with a rag. Then carefully remove the hose, thereby reducing the pressure.

Disconnect the fuel supply line "1" and the fuel return line "2". After removing the expansion tank, set it forward along with the attached coolant hoses. After removing the fuel filter from the holder, place it aside in place of the coolant expansion tank.

Disconnect the fuel supply line «1» and the fuel…

After installing the MP9-200 (10-222A) engine mounting bracket, secure the engine in position for assembly using lead screw "B." Lead screw "A" remains suspended freely.

Remove the "arrow" engine support bracket.

Remove the «arrow» engine support bracket.

Important: By loosening the rocker support, the engine moves slightly forward and the engine support can be removed.

Unscrew the rocker support from the gearbox. Remove the upper part of the timing belt guard. After lowering the engine approx. 35 mm down, unscrew the lower engine mount bolt.

(The original article is available on SKODABOOK)

Raising the engine approx. 45 mm above the normal position, unscrew the upper engine mount bolts. Swivel the engine mount forward outward and upward "arrow A", then pull it out at the rear upward "arrow B". Return the engine to normal position. Adjust the crankshaft to the TDC position of the piston of the 1st cylinder.

Raising the engine approx. 45 mm above the normal…

Important: Turn the crankshaft until the marking on the timing belt pulley is at the top and the arrow on the rear timing belt guard is opposite the projections on the hub with the impulse wheel "arrow A".

Lock the hub with the "MP1-301" or "3359" locking pin. Insert the locking pin through the slot on the left side into the hole in the cylinder head. Lock the timing belt pulley on the crankshaft using the T10050 locking device. Install the locking device into the teeth of the timing belt pulley on the end face. To make this operation easier, it is recommended to mark more clearly the TDC marking on the toothed belt pulley on the crankshaft and on the locking device "T10050" with white paint "arrows B".

Lock the hub with the «MP1-301» or «3359» locking…

Important: The marks on the timing belt pulley and locking device must align opposite each other "arrows B". The pin of the locking device must engage into the hole of the sealing flange gasket "arrow C". The locking device "T10050" can only be fitted onto the splined shaft of the pulley from the end side. The locking device "T10050" must not be used for locking when loosening or tightening the toothed belt pulley screw on the crankshaft!

Mark the direction of movement of the toothed drive belt with chalk or a marker. Loosen the camshaft drive gear "arrow" screws.

Mark the direction of movement of the toothed…

Loosen the tension roller lock nut "1". Turn the tension roller eccentric with the socket wrench "T10264" counterclockwise "arrow" so that the tension roller can be locked with the locking device "T10265".

Loosen the tension roller lock nut «1». Turn the…

Turn the socket wrench "T10264" clockwise "arrow" until it stops and tighten the lock nut "1" by hand. Remove the guide roller. Remove the toothed drive belt first from the crankshaft pulley and then from the remaining drive pulleys.
