Important: Due to the fact that different versions use batteries of different sizes, it may happen that the receiver cover with the level indicator is covered by the battery holder. In this case, it is necessary to remove the air filter, battery and battery holder. If necessary, remove the air filter. If necessary, remove the battery and battery holder. Remove the left front wheel. Raise the car. Remove the lower engine cover. Remove the left front wheel arch (fender) liner.
Caution: When connecting the jumper wires to the booster battery, please observe the applicable safety regulations!
If necessary, connect the battery using auxiliary wires to connect the starter to the auxiliary battery. Start the engine and let it run at idle speed.
Important: A second mechanic must be present to check the tightness of the pressure line, return line and connections.
Check the tightness of the pressure line (expandable hose) and return line. In case of leaks, it is necessary to replace the corresponding tube or hose. Check the fastening and tightness of all hose and tube connections. If connections or lines are not tight, tighten them to the specified torque or replace the seals or lines. Check the tightness of the pump unit. If the pump unit is leaking, it must be replaced. Check the tightness of the hydraulic fluid receiver. If the pump unit is leaking, it must be replaced. Check the hydraulic fluid level and top it up if necessary.
Important: If the leakage of hydraulic fluid in the receiver of the pump unit is repeated, and a thorough inspection of the tubes and hoses, including their connections, has been carried out several times, it is necessary to remove the power steering gear housing and inspect it.
Remove the power steering gear housing. Remove seal "1". Release clamp "3". Move aside corrugated boots "2".

Check the seal effectiveness at the input shaft of the power steering gear housing "arrow A". Check the sealing of the steering rack "arrow B". If hydraulic fluid appears inside the power steering gear housing or in the bellows boots, replace the power steering gear housing.

If there is no hydraulic fluid in the power steering gear housing or in the bellows, then it is necessary to attach the bellows "2" with new clamps "3". Install the seal "1" of the power steering gear housing. Install the power steering gear housing.

Important: If there is no more working fluid for hydraulic systems in the receiver of the pump unit, it is possible that the pump unit was running "dry" and that as a result of this it was damaged.
Replace the pump unit. If necessary, disconnect the auxiliary wires to connect the starter to the auxiliary battery. Install the left wheel arch (fender) liner. Install the lower engine cover. Install the front wheel. If necessary, install the battery and battery holder. If necessary, an air filter should be installed. If the battery has been removed: Perform automatic testing. If faults are loaded into the fault memory: Eliminate faults. Reset the contents of the fault memory.
