Assembly diagram of a toothed drive belt
1 - Upper part of the toothed drive belt protective cover; 2 - Before removing the toothed drive belt, mark the direction of movement, check for wear, do not bend it too much; 3 - 20 Nm + turn an additional 1/8 turn (45°); 4 - Tension roller, eccentric equipped with an additional hole for the socket wrench "T10264" (or a 6 mm hex socket wrench); 5 - 100 Nm; 6 - 20 Nm + turn an additional 1/8 turn (45°); 7 - Drive gear (pulley) of the camshaft; 8 - Hub, with a pulse wheel, to loosen and tighten you should use the counter support "T10051", to remove you should use the puller "T10052"; 9 - 10 Nm; 10 - Rear toothed drive belt guard; 11 - Bushing, replace if damaged; 12 - Guide roller; 13 - Liquid cooling system pump; 14 - Timing belt pulley on the crankshaft, the mating surface between the pulley on the crankshaft and the crankshaft must be clean and free of grease. Assembly position: The flat areas on the timing belt sprocket and the crankshaft should be aligned with each other; 15 - 120 Nm + turn an additional 1/4 turn (90°), replace, use a counter-holder to loosen and tighten (supporting shoulder) "MR1-310 (3099)" or counter-support "T30004 (3415)", do not lubricate the new screw with oil or grease; 16-15 Nm; 17 - 20 Nm; 18 - Lower part of the toothed drive belt protective cover; 19 - Pulley with vibration damper, installation is possible only in one position - mutually offset holes; 20 - 10 Nm + turn an additional 1/4 turn (90°); 21 - Middle part of the toothed drive belt protective cover
Setting TDC with the crankshaft pulley installed

Adjust the TDC mark on the crankshaft pulley opposite the mark on the lower protective cover of the toothed drive belt according to the figure.
Tension roller

Additional hole in the tension roller eccentric "arrow" for the socket wrench "T10264" (or a 6 mm hex socket wrench).
Removal
Important: Adjustment work on the toothed drive belt may only be carried out on a cold engine, as the position of the tensioner handle changes depending on the engine temperature.
Remove the upper engine cover. Remove the upper air intake pipe "1": connecting hose "2".

After installing the MP 9-200 (10-222A) mounting device, secure the engine in the assembly position using the lead screw "B." The lead screw remains suspended freely.

Remove the engine support bracket "1" and engine "2". Remove the poly V-belt.
For cars with air conditioning
Remove the limit bolt from the poly V-belt tensioner roller.
Continued for all vehicles
Remove the upper part of the toothed poly V-belt cover. Remove the lower engine cover.

For vehicles with engines designated with the letters BNM, BNV
Unscrew screw "3". Remove the lower air outlet pipe "1" with connecting hose "2" "arrows".

Continued for all vehicles
Remove the poly V-belt pulley. Remove the front part of the timing belt guard. Remove the lower timing belt guard. Adjust the crankshaft to TDC of the 1st cylinder.

Important: Turn the crankshaft until the marking on the timing belt pulley is opposite the mark on the rear timing belt guard "arrow A".
Lock the hub with the "MP1-301 (3359)" locking pin. Insert the locking pin through the unoccupied slot on the left side into the hole in the cylinder head. Lock the timing belt pulley on the crankshaft using the T10050 locking device. Install the locking device into the teeth of the timing belt pulley on the end face. To make this operation easier, it is recommended to mark more clearly the TDC marking on the toothed belt pulley on the crankshaft and on the locking device "T10050" with white paint "arrows B".

Important: The marking on the timing belt pulley on the crankshaft and the marking on the locking device must be aligned opposite each other "arrows B". The pin of the locking device must engage into the hole of the sealing flange gasket "arrow C". The locking device "T10050" must not be used for locking when loosening or tightening the crankshaft timing belt pulley bolt.
Mark the direction of rotation of the toothed drive belt. Loosen the camshaft drive gear (pulley) "arrow" screws so that the pulley can be turned.

Loosen the tension roller lock nut "1". Turn the tension roller eccentric with the socket wrench "T10264" counterclockwise "arrow" so that the tension roller can be locked with the locking device "T10265".

Turn the socket wrench "T10264" clockwise "arrow" until it stops and tighten the lock nut "1" by hand. Remove the guide roller. Remove the toothed drive belt first from the water pump pulley and then from the other pulleys.
