Crankshaft timing gear marking
The marking of the crankshaft camshaft gear is indicated by an arrow.
Crankshaft gear selection
1 - camshaft gear; 2 - crankshaft gear; a - nominal clearance; b - the gear is shifted inward; c - gear shifted outward
The camshaft gears of the crankshaft of gasoline engines with a volume of 1.0 liters, a power of 37 kW and 1.4 liters, a power of 50 kW are supplied as spare parts in three widths that differ by 0.2 mm. Gears are marked with the letters E, F and G, which are knocked out on the gear hub above the keyway, as shown in the figure. When replacing, you need to install a gear with the same marking as on the old one. Otherwise, the chain may come off when the engine is running.
1. Install the timing gears on the timing and crankshafts. Press them in the axial direction and apply a rigid ruler to the camshaft gear as shown in the figure (arrows indicate labels).
2. Use a feeler gauge to measure the gap a (see fig. Crankshaft gear selection) between the ruler and the crankshaft gear. The nominal clearance must be equal to (0,11±0,18) mm.
3. If the measured gap differs from the specified, you need to install a gear of a different width.
