Removal and installation a turbocharger for an engine with the letter designation BMS (Skoda Fabia 5J)

Remove the front exhaust manifold with the particulate filter from the turbocharger. Remove the air intake hose from the turbocharger connection pipe and air filter. Remove the front wall air duct and air filter. Remove the air filter. Disconnect the connecting hose from the turbocharger. Remove the vacuum line leading to the vacuum regulator. Disconnect and release the lubrication supply line. Drain the coolant. Remove the connecting pipe from the EGR cooler and exhaust manifold. Remove the coolant hose leading to the heat exchanger. Remove the heat shield to the left on the exhaust manifold. Remove the top-accessible nuts on the exhaust manifold. Remove the top-accessible nuts on the EGR cooler. Remove the coolant hose on the EGR cooler leading to the heat exchanger. Unscrew the oil drain line from the turbocharger. Disconnect the remaining coolant hose from the EGR cooler. Remove the EGR cooler. Remove the G235 pre-turbocharger temperature sensor. Remove the exhaust manifold and lift it out with the turbocharger.

Installation



Installation is carried out in a similar manner, in the reverse order of actions. In this case, the following instructions must be observed.

Important: Tightening torques. Self-locking nuts must be replaced with new ones. After installing the turbocharger, the engine should be left running for approx. 1 min at idle speed to allow oil to enter the turbocharger.
