Before disconnecting the battery in vehicles with a car radio equipped with an anti-theft jamming code, you must know this code. With the ignition off, disconnect the wire connecting the battery terminal to the ground (body) of the vehicle. Remove the air filter. Remove the battery and battery holder. Remove the Bowden cable retaining ring "3" from the gear shift lever. Remove the retaining ring "4" of the Bowden cable drive for the preselective gear shift control device from the preselector guide lever "2".
Remove the preselective shift control cable and the shift cable from the journals. Remove the flexible roller counter support (bowden cables) from the "arrow" gearbox.
Using a disassembly wedge, release the cover from the center panel casing (protruding part of the floor between the front seats) in the direction of the arrows. Unscrew the boot through the gear shift lever head.
Turn the stopper "arrow A" in the direction of "arrow B" and remove the gear shift lever head together with the boot. Remove the center panel cover (protruding part of the floor between the front seats).
Unscrew the lock nuts of the gearshift housing arrow. Remove the front part of the exhaust pipe.
Remove the right and left underbody protection plates of the "arrow" (if they are installed).
Remove the "arrow" tunnel bridge. Disconnect the rear section of the exhaust pipe so that it does not touch the rear axle. Remove the "arrow" screen.
Fold the gearshift housing down and remove it along with the Bowden cables.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of actions. However, the following guidelines must be followed. Before installing the Bowden cable locking devices, a small amount of grease should be added to the spherical bushings "A" and "B" "G 000 450 02".
Important: Do not allow grease to come into contact with the "arrow" seals around the spherical bearing. Retaining rings "3" and "4" should be replaced after each removal. Lock the Bowden cable for the gearshift with locking ring "3" and the Bowden cable for the pre-selective gearshift control with locking ring "4". Adjust the gearshift housing so that it is parallel to the body. The distance from the body should be the same on both sides.
